Peters talk about his roots got me semi-interested in mine. So I looked up a short Litunian History! Bascially my heritage has been oppressed for hundreds of years. By German tribes, by the Teutons, by the Christians.. Lituanians were pagans made jews forced Christians. The country was occupied by Russia starting near the time of Napolean and then into the reign of the USSR, the jews, one grandparent has jewish links through the mother(my grandmother is catholic though. Because its through the mother, my dad insists he is a jew.. though he isn't.. er.. but thats a long story. So anyway.. the jews were opressed by the Nazis.. then later again by Russia... they finally got independent statehood again in 1990.. sorry I'm trying not to bore anyone. But I just want to say we have all been oppressed, maybe not in this generation, but it has affected all of us.. seriously. so thats what i wanted to say....ho-merck time

Its not boring, I think. Other cultures are interesting.

But I thought I should say...I wasn't trying to gain self pity or anything...
I wanted to explain one of several reasons that religion is important; because relatives found it something to die for.
And, the entire conversation was a minute detail thrown at ashely, "by the way, one reason religion is so important is because i have had family members die for being catholic". kind of like how people have such reverance for a country(america) when relatives die for it. except that religion has that as an importance and more....
but anyways...it was a 10 word statement thrown at ashley in an attempt to explain why religion is so important, which was heard by steph and kind of twisted(i think). which is why i wrote today...to explain what it is you should have heard. not through steph, but from me.
