Yuck, mildly productive.
Jun. 29th, 2006 09:27 pmWell, my package from UPS finally did arrive. I managed to clean the kitchen. I also got to watch movies all day.
I feel like kind of a lump but otherwise, it's been a decent day.
I watched my two Netflix movies, which was dumb of me. Even if I sent them back today, I won't get a movie until Tuesday at the earliest (since they don't ship over the weekend). Oh well, this will force me to start my first "productive week" as I've been planning...
..or I'll just go to the library. I have a couple books I could read but now I've been sucked into a delcious new waste of time. Netflix has allowed me to indulge my apparent love of documentaries and foreign films (I never really knew how much I liked them until recently). I was at the library and I saw one of my recommendations on the shelf - Manor House. It's basically a PBS reality show where they put people in a period lifestyle for three months.
I unfortunately only borrowed the last tape (I didn't realize this till I was half way through), of three. Oops. Now I have to go back and borrow the first that someone apparently had already taken out.
It's a fantastic show. Educational, too. It's pretty funny to see the manor family get sucked into the lifestyle and witness the camraderie of the people playing the wait staff.
If it didn't already indicate to me that I'm a huge, nerdy dork - I was admiring the head butler's architectual handwriting when he drew out a plan scheme of the house whilst arranging a ball. The last episode features them all going back to their lifestyles, of course.. he's an architect. He's also like my favorite character. I still think it's funny that I could "tell" without even knowing anything about this guy's real life--I actually thought he might be like a butler in real life he was so good at it.
This just supports my theory that having an architect, fictional or nonfictional makes a show better (in my opinion). Unfortunately, I think I'm one of the only people that believe this. So I doubt that any new TV shows featuring life in an architecture firm will ever take off. Oh well.
Crap. I have to study for Italiano e scrivo una compazisione per domani. Non mi piace. Ci vediamo.
