Per suggestion of Anthony...
Jun. 29th, 2006 10:38 amI am going to be recording my summer "shit list"..
I can't believe that with the lazy days of summer, me being over-relaxed someone could actually piss me off. It would take something so monumental, so catastrophic to get on my bad side.
Lo and behold, someone managed to do the impossible. Thanks UPS, for being an unreliable bunch of slovenly jerks. You manage to knock on my door outside of the range you left on the note. I manage to miss you by 10-20 minutes each time. While some people may be content to loaf around in their houses all day waiting for your sorry asses to arrive.. I occasionally need to leave for short periods.
I mean, I can't say that I didn't expect this. The last time I depended on UPS, I was waiting for that cocktail dress -- I needed it asap so I payed extra postage. I made a bit of a mistake by not adding my address number, but I cleared that up asap. UPS decided to make me wait all day, biting my nails to the bone until way after 5 on a Friday evening. This time, I at least knew not to waste my money because, of course, I would get it at the last possible moment no matter what.
The difference is this time it was hot in my house and unpleasant to be in.
I waited all day Tuesday but had to leave my house at 4:25 so I could meet my grandmother. They deliver a little after 5, sometimes. However, I was there ALL DAY. DOING NOTHING. MELTING. The note they left said 2-5, or after 5 for the next day.
Wednesday, I sped home after the radio show. I think I had to check my mail, but I got home at like 2:20. They managed to post-it my door in that amount of time. Fuckers. So now, they basically had all boxes after 10:30 checked. Now.. I wait. This is my final delivery notice and this package, which they missorted and thus caused a delay is something I pretty much need.
This wasn't something from the Amazon purchases, mind-you.
Oh, but one of those purchases arrived today by my new favorite delivery service, DHL. Seriously, the range of delivery estimate didn't even start till tomorrow. I couldn't believe it when I saw the yellow van. Those guys are awesome. It was on the East Coast yesterday morning and it was on my door this morning. That was next day air and I didn't even pay extra postage. WTF?!?
I pretty much only hate UPS more after this experience. Though, I do have the most adorable, cherry-print sundress ever to quell my hatred at the moment. Seriously, it is sooo cute. I want to wear it all day today and tomorrow but it's kind of cold and I think I'm going to go clean the kitchen up while I wait the Unreliable Prick Service to show up.
