Sweet jesus god almighty
Feb. 21st, 2006 12:30 pmBelieve it or not, this is not a blasphemy post. I was just granted inspiration from above. It might not be the best idea but it applies to my site: there is a rational explanation for the shape and a reason for the pieces, this is the most I can ask for. Best of all, the interior stuff fits and I was able to manipulate the square into an asymmetrical composition. The light, the vision, it fits in my head.
Squeel. Architecture nerd heart attack.
You have no idea how much grief this has been giving me. Some people already have really complicated walls built of their hut (due Friday) and I've been trying to solidify an idea I liked. It was giving me my doubts until a shape popped into my head while hiking across the amphitheater on the way for a falafel.
I'm sorry, this probably made no sense but I feel this rush of relief now that I can start building. I even know how I'm going to do a few of my diagrams - that's just a bloody miracle right there. That's like a cashmere whilst wishing for a warm sweater. Note to self: when in doubt, blend building materials from the surrounding site. This has saved my ass multiple times but I always manage to forget it. Stupid amnesia. I just got an idea for my removable wall... this is fantastic.
---
To sum up: I have a project. I should have had an idea yesterday at 8 AM, maybe even by last Friday. The project is due. It was seeming like I was going to have to settle on some amateur bullshit nonsense idea just so I could finish the project with some degree of quality. Luckily, my brain wrapped itself around an idea totally out of the blue (like it always does, eventually) right as I was losing faith in my magical ability to pull through.
Combine this with a moved design skills deadline and I'm about ready to pass out from sheer joy.
This is why the design process is amazing and addictive. It's like a complicated math problem, except for their are multiple answers and there might not be a best one, oh, and it can take an indeterminable amount of time before figuring it out - even with unlimited help.
Now I'm just blathering and not working. I'm really not avoiding it now, I'm just so joyful and don't want to make any hasty decisions before I have to go to volleyball.
SQUEEE!
