Bahhh school
Nov. 14th, 2005 12:45 pmSo this weekend was so incredibly uber kickass. Friday - incredible concert, run amok-age in Portland. Saturday - movie & SNES pwnage (actually, I was embarassingly rusty) with Jon. Sunday - an extreme display of mad kickball/soccer skillz with the APO national VP. I got a new brother name, Brother Butt Slide. That's seriously probably the coolest one ever. My jeans were so tanked but I really couldn't have been happier. I have no shame, I will dive if necessary to get an out, protect my goal, etc. etc. Dirt washes off, glory is forever.
Enough of that cheeseball spectacle...
I woke up at 5:30 AM today and went with Heidi/Rachel to get Civil War Game tickets (University of Oregon vs. Oregon State University, for ya'll non-Oregonians). That was hardcore, but rather depressing. We waited in line, but basically everyone ended up cutting the tents in the end - that was sort of to be expected. The sad part was how much disgusting litter and petty vandalism so many of those idiots did to Autzen. Seriously, the three of us (especially Heidi) were pretty morally outraged. There was vomit in places (seagulls were eating it), beer cans/bottles everywhere. Someone had even tried to make a mini bonfire out of limbs from our trees (damp, so an utterly pointless waste), beer boxes, cans, and styrofoam packing peanuts. I really wanted to clean up the mess. Really, really, really wanted to. There was this lone groundskeeper that was cleaning up the mess made by all of those jerks and I felt so bad for him. I felt embarassed for the school. So much money goes into keeping that place tip-top, and a few people blow it because they are inconsiderate dumbasses. Those people weaken my faith in humanity since they haven't learned by their 20s that they need to clean up their own messes (and sometimes those made by others).. oh well, fuck them.
I'm pretty much taking this day really easy. It feels slacker-ish but I didn't have much to do. As soon as my camera finishes charging, I'm going to loiter around downtown and pick out the buildings for my paper due Thursday. That should be good and proactive. I have so much going on, but I always manage to make generous holes in which to establish some semblance of an outside life. This week should be a good one-
Tuesday: Exec meeting, family dinner (lasagna & chicken parmesan?)
Wednesday: Chapter, finish up ARH paper
Thursday: Register for classes, turn in paper, Harry Potter (at 11:59!)
Friday: Mythology Test #3 (lol), Big/Litte Olympics (?)
Saturday: Civil War Game
Sunday: Whitacker Dinner prep? (I really do need to call on that now waiting for call back)
la dee da, I'm going to go wander around Eugene now.
