One because I'm bored and quick because ditto.
Saturday consisted of what I wish could be a typical day in the life of Sarah.
I woke up early and went over to Niki's. We went to Hermann Park to do a "clean-up project" for some NHS hours. She couldn't get SAVE club to go so it sounded good. We got there a bit late because Popinjay (her Volvo stationwagon) was having some problems, we had to make a pit stop at her mechanic and wait for her mom to take us. We got there and the (young looking) guy had no idea who we were - he was quite stupid, he asked us several times over "what school we were from", etc. constantly forgetting it seconds later to inevitably ask us the next time he saw us. We just joined in spreading mulch which wasn't the kind where from 100+ feet away with a pinched nose you exclaim "ewww.. they must be re-mulching." Bascically - it wasn't bad. Too make things better, it was cloudy and breezy - a total miracle for Houston. We didn't even break a sweat. Crazy. It was kind of dumb. After each site, Matthew (dumb dude) made us talk about what we just did, like.. a reflection circle. His tone made it sound like a reality or something, at least to me and especially when in our second task he told us about the next "challenge." Apparently the mulch-men were drunk (ok.. so I'm taking liberties with this story now) and missed the dump spot. The second location, we had to scoop and wheel mulch about 20 feet from where it was errantly dumped. Ok, that was stupid.. but it got even dumber. The third mulch location was across the street. So with 3 wheel barrows, we had to transport a lot of mulch several hundred feet back to the second location across a street. lol. I had fun. It was silly but I liked getting outdoors and the park is better for it. Helping the community, a rewarding way to start the day.
We went back to Niki's after picking up Popinjay and ate Oreo's until it was time to meet Mary & Steph. We ate lunch at Fuddruckers before heading to Greenway to see "Girl with a Pearl Earring."
I really liked the movie. It was beautifully filmed. Scenes looked like Vermeer's paintings as far as tenebrism and obvious pastiche. It was sooo cool. I'm such a nerd.
Ugh.. crappy post.
Honestly.. I feel sick all of the sudden. I think it is the smell of whatever is cooking. The room is kind of spinning and I feel like I'm on a roller coaster - no joke.
