sad ;_;.. and happy ^_^
Apr. 26th, 2002 11:24 pmwell.. as you heard from mizu.. we got into NHS.. it would have been the most absolutely fantastic greatest thing in the world.. if.. it didn't come with the slapback from those already considered "honorable".. when I got my letter I was in Honors English minding my own buisness trying to finish my short Algebra 2 assignment.. as it happened.. the girls circling my desk at the time all "originally" got in... so I got my letter, alex moore next to me got one too.. I was happy.. I mean.. NHS.. thats awesome.. it continues my streak, I have never been rejected from anything yet.. except SPIRAL.. the "gifted" program of Spring Branch.. ha.. I was always border-line.. I never would have taken the stupid tests but every year my teachers recommended me.. o_O.. anyway.. back to the ordeal.. so I look at the message and instanly pulled out my phone to text-message my mom when I start to hear the harsh, stabbing words of the girls around me.. "I can't believe this.. this is so un-fair" "Why did they do this.. those girls didn't deserve it" "..its like they are taking away our honor" "Its not my fault they were to stupid to get in the first time" "I am going to have my parents fight this.. this isn't right.. we tried so hard to get in.. obviously they didn't work as hard".. I felt like I was about to cry.. I am serious.. that is exactly what they said.. Michelle Tai even told Alex Moore (her friend, or at least I thought so) "You know you guys didn't deserve to get in.. this isn't right".. Alex uncomfortably nodded back.. ok.. really dumb metaphor.. I mean really.. but I think it is ample for how I felt... you know the Disney Cinderella where she has the dress and looks so pretty.. and just .. is so happy she is going to go to the ball.. the violins are swelling.. it is just such a wonderful moment.. then the wicked stepsisters come in and shred her dress and leave her crying in a pile of torn fabric.. thats really how I felt.. all I could think about was how "not-honorable" they were acting.. I mean.. if they were.. they would be so happy for their friends and others.. like Niki and Senpai.. they were so wonderful about it.. Sarah made me feel a lot better.. (thank you! ^_^) but it was awful.. I mean.. most of the worst comments came from Jennah Altemus.. one person I didn't think should have been allowed in.. I mean.. after what she did to Mizu with the whole "cheating" scandal.. I could not believe she thought herself SO worthy of NHS.. that she could bash those who didn't like Mizu.. who really do all the work for her.. so I don't know.. I accepted the invitation.. and I will be inducted.. but I refuse to feel cheap about this whole thing.. poor Kristen Corpuz actually did.. she felt bad about it.. about getting accepted by default.. I hope she forgets it.. she is one of those girls that I know really deserves it.. but on the side.. there are quite a few rumors flying on the matter of why this happened.. here are a few I heard and what I think (WIT):
1) Someone's parents complained (WIT: No... they wouldn't have listened.. that's why they make the parents sign the form.. saying they won't complain and if they do.. they will be ignored)
a. Someone's rich/donor parents complained (WIT: More likely that the above.. haha.. did anyone here about Mosie Hackett getting kicked out of choir.. kinda ackward consideriing her parents sponser the entire department)
2) There were errors in the process, certain things not counted, service doesn't count unless with the school but not service-day, something weird like that (WIT: Maybe.. I don't know..)
3) Sister Jane didn't like the process, didn't think that it gave a fair chance to all (WIT: sounds like sister jane.. she is such a great person..)
4) The National Board got ahold of something and said SAA was to harsh in acceptance (WIT: o_O)
I don't know those are a few I heard.. but I wish they would say why.. they probably won't for fear of making an even larger scandal.. SAA has never been one to explain things.. instead it leaves the reasoning to gossip.. hehe.. oh well.. I am happy.. I hope this blows over by tuesday.. ^_^.. yay but I cant wait till tomorrow.. the concert and mizu and emma and steph and people... FUNN.. Oh! my driving lesson was good today.. I LOVE my new teacher.... she is SO sweet.. hehe.. ok.. -Sarah
