Legolas..

Today was almost wasted, I painted my mom a teapot for her birthday. It's really colorful, and for some reason it reminds me of the teapot in "Beauty & the Beast" played by Angela Lansbury. What was her name - Mrs. Potts? I don't remember, but she had pink/purple stripes.

I was such a Disney freak as a child. Anything with the Little Mermaid, Belle, etc. on it would send me into a tisy. I remember in preschool I once flashed a classmate because I was so proud of my Little Mermaid underwear. Now, Disney animation has pretty much flushed itself down the crapper. They keep wrecking the legacies of magesty and childhood nostalgia by popping out horrible sequels, the vomit worthly straight-to-video kind. They haven't had a good idea since "Mulan"; "Emperor's New Groove" was ok but David Spade is an annoying little prick and listening to him at his most whiny was almost a wrist slitting experience. I will say that I enjoyed the llama concept, the sorceress's cat character, & the side kick guy who was on Seinfeld. The movie had balance but Disney fucked up by hiring David Spade (by the way, did you know his brother is Kate Spade's husband? Scary, her namesake from them.. ew). I heard that "Treasure Planet" lost the company millions. Pixar's contract is going to be over after only a few more films. Hopefully they will wake up and realize the only way to save the company from certain death is by making more "Pirates of the Caribbean" movies, or at least real people movies - the next one would be sure to rake in even more money than the first one.

On my way home I decided to stop at Target for god knows what reason. I think I must have been temporarily insane to go to any store 1 day before Christmas - especially so I could just "walk around." So I was wandering aimlessly for no reason when I found this poster rack. Inside.. a Legolas poster! I do not know what possessed me but it was like I was meant to find it. Haha. Anyway, I have to find space on my wall - I used the last bit for the Strokes. As soon as it's up though, my room is going to just flood with drool or something.

Speaking of the charming Orlando, I'm going to go watch "Pirates of the Caribbean" again; wearing the appropriate pirate headgear of course. Not only do I now have the hat - Anthony did the funniest thing, he bought me an eye patch at Randall's - a real one for medical emergencies, not the toy kind. The guy wearing it on the box had me laughing for half an hour, which was probably something sadistic but I'm pretty sure he is an actor. He looks like a "Ken" doll and I've never seen a really clean cut person wearing an eye patch. He looked really weird.

Shameful Confession of the Day: "King of the Hill" makes me laugh sometimes.
