I've been anxious about my Calculus grade because I haven't really been reacting to the low (to me, maybe not to most people) grades I've been getting back. It turns out.. I have like, an 83 versus last quarter's 87. That ticks me off but Calculus has just been crap. We got this test back, I got a 73. It inspired me to take PRISTINE notes that day, nothing confusing to study.. I copied down every word he said. However, I had problems with the quiz and got homework questions wrong. I was ticked. I looked at my notes versus the book, he left out CRUCIAL information for solving the problem and taught through doing ONE (the most simple possible) example. My plan for boosting my grade is to relgiously do my homework. I've fallen out of the habit because he never checks it. I need to get back into doing that. I get key concepts but not by test time. I'm going to make integrals my bitch! Har har.
My second concern.. H. economics. You have NO idea how much I want to be exempt. I would be so thrilled if I didn't have to take it. My tests have been suprisingly good lately, I've had mostly low A's high B's. I thought my average would fall in there. I have a 91!! But.. he hasn't graded my classes papers - 50% of the grade. I need a 93 to cancel my 87 (which I was extremely proud of) and get the minimal A. This will require a grade of a 95(if he rounds the final average) to a 100. This could be feasible, he said that "girls either got it, or didn't" meaning people did fantastic (he graded easy if you understood the essay concepts, probably) and awful (he killed you if you didn't get it). Megan H. got a 65 but Emily P. got a 100. I have no idea where I fall. He hasn't finished my class yet. I'm just.. bracing myself. He announces exemptions Friday. Do you know how FANTASTIC it would be to take ONLY 3 FINALS?! ALSO.. it would me, no final on Thursday.. hence I would only have finals on 2 days and FURTHER.. I COULD SEE LOTR3 opening night!! Maybe.. POSSIBLY.. even catch the back to back trilogy with extended scenes (ohmygawdthatwouldbesocool..i'msuchanerd). Mr. Albright, I will love you and never speak ill of you - I shall always praise your name to those blasphemers if you grant me a 95+. The thought just makes me dizzy with glee.
In other news, my mom got sacked because her boss was an anal retentive dipshit. He would tell her things like "give it to me by the end of the week" and then on Weds. ask "so where is it?" They also shared an office. My mom was over qualified (B.S. & Biz. school & U. of Chicago) for the job.. its obvious he just wants a lackey to say "yes sir, no sir.. how high should I jump sir.. can I make out with your ass, sir." I feel bad because she is discouraged but she deserves better than that stupid freak man (I met him twice). She will get a better job, with better pay. The only real reason she took this job is because at the end of a year, I would get full tuition to Rice, provided I get in. Bah, whatever.
Dad is yelling his frikkin' head off so I have to go sit at the dinner table now and stare at spaghetti. Yuck.
