I'm excited, I finally got to see the TV trailer of Cold Mountain. I've been to many movies-in-theater and I never actually saw the trailer. So yeah. I will have to see it just for the heck of it. Its been a thought stewing in my mind since August 2002 when I had to read that book. A lot of girls hated it, but I was kissing "literary"(haha)-ground for a solid piece of prose. I mean, after Mr. Fil's year-o-poetry, I was thanking the divine forces of the universe for sending me something not expressed in lines and well, it was also relatively recently published (96, I think.)
I went to Rice yesterday. The girl was sooo nice, but I had like no questions and conversation dragged. A lot of ackward smiling/giggling on my part with the occasional "no.. it's really interesting" when she was describing this incredibly abstract project that she was doing. It wasn't SO foreign, but it is definetly something you need 3 years of college to achieve. I love Rice. I will give my first 3 children to go there.
lol. Nick & I are arguing about colleges. He is so the opposite of me: small, private, lib. arts; he is large, public, & professional. hehe.
Niki & I have been Stroke-obsessing since the concert. They were so frikkin' awesome I just cannot express it. They are just great musicians and guys. Its so funny; they get totally smashed and kiss sometimes. Its not homosexual at all, just guys who have been close for near decades and are so comfortable they have no typical male hangups. Plus, its only when they are drunk. I want to marry one. My scruffy Stroke.. that would be awesome. I'd pick Nic or Fab. Fab is so cute, but he is going out with Drew Barrymore; he has REALLY curly hair, awesome t-shirts.. he is adorable. Nic has scrappy hair and really light eyes, he is one of the guitarists but he is like.. painfully thin. Albert is hilarious but he always looks high. Nikolai has his moments of hot-ness but otherwise, he looks weird most of the time. Julian is the one who is always absolutely shit drunk, swears like a sailor, smokes like a chimney, cheats on women.. but he looks like a lost little boy. I WANT ONE!
Anyway. Thanksgiving was pretty super. We all made something. I cut myself with a frikkin' knife while cutting apples for my mom's waldorf salad. I was so pissed and bleeding everywhere. It was just the side of my middle finger (by the nail). It doesn't hurt but it looks gross. T_T;;
Sorry, skipping around but I have a story about Rice. I was there and I was tired so my mom told me I should drive home and let my dad pick her up. She told me how to get out and how to use the parking tag "just flag it". Well I "flagged" it and the machine didn't read. I finally figured it out, but I was a bit flustered. I turned out of the driveway.. the WRONG way. It was the worst nightmare of most drivers.. driving down the wrong way of the street. I didn't figure it out till I was well on my way and some guy told me out his window that I was. I was horrified. There I was.. at my first choice school trying to appear as intelligent as possible, driving the WRONG way. The street seemed to narrow to turn around in so I called my mom and she did it. Ugh. It was muy embarressing though.
I have so much work to do for my portfolio that it actually made me naseous when I thought about it earlier. Then again, that could have been the absurd amount of clover rolls I consumed. >.>;;
Anyway. I'm done for now.
