Heh. J. Lo & Ben, broken up. That news, if it holds through the next month, will be cause for a celebration. Does anyone think its fishy that they break up the day of what would have been their wedding (canceled because of "unwanted" [oh please.. they've been loving it up everywhere, dateline, etc. they knew & asked for the media attention] media coverage). Possibly a plan to fool the press for a wedding to be held in private, the media - assuming break-age - may not be as inclined to look for the wedding? Or maybe, hopefully, this is it - quits. They've both rode the media train as far as its gone, maybe "Bennifer" realizes its been kicked for new it couple, Ashton & Demi? Who knows. I'm not tossing confetti yet.

I was reading Moby last night. He keeps a blog and has really interesting views on the world. Neat guy, related to Herman Melville (hence nickname) by the way. Avid anti-Bush/anti-RIAA suings. He lives at Moby.com. Check him out if you have a moment sometime. His drawings are funny and he is learning some flash, haha. Its cool.

Thinking a few minutes ago while reading an article about Clinton gathering a whole bunch of Democrats in a muddy field an Iowa and creating a spirited rally, its funny how much my views of him have changed. I mean, in office.. he was the liar - he lied to the country. He had an affair. OOH! Bad man! Interns fear for your chastity, President Pimp is in the office. It was a good time for SNL writers. The shows wrote themselves. However now, compared to Bush, he looks not anywhere as bad as far as lying to the nation. Hey, at least when he gives speeches he uses proper grammar. Funny. Iowa people are stereotyped as hicks while Yale people are supposed to be intelligent. Anyway. There have been very subdued whispers about giving Clinton a nomination but with the economy as in total shit as it is, not to mention education (Bush was supposed to be known as the "education president" though he has constantly cut from education in the last few years), the whispers seem warranted. His term did bring about extreme prosperity to the economy. Its an interesting thought. Dean, Kerry, Clinton. Dean is the one who has been campaigning online and Kerry looks like a charicture drawing (he has like JFK hair, drives a motorcycle, and is really squinty most of the time). I don't know. It will be an interesting election next year.

I don't think I've ranted about this, local/personal matter yet, but Elisia is writing our political, mayoral election article. Uhm, let me see.. I don't know her very well but she doesn't take stuff seriously and comes off as a total airhead. I had to totally shred her article to pieces.. her punctuation was atrocious, she had no conclusion, used poor transition between candidates, used phrases like "well here is a candidate for you", and broke about 20 rules we established during our special article workshop. Ugh. I kind of killed Becca's "netview" article, but the redundancy was horrible. It isn't her fault, writing a piece on a computer program that the students don't like and keeping it almost strictly buisness is a hard task (I wrote one on the program that lets them watch what we do online last year). However, her academic challenge piece was finely orchestrated. My article.. well, I can't decide whether it will be a passionate appeal to the student body's ethos or a corny whine that they will laugh and use as ammo against me behind my back. My editorial talks about school traditions - why they are important and why I like them, and for participation increases - to preserve them. I don't know. We have a very full week ahead of page-making (which I failed to teach the editors on our new program). I never found someone to buy an ad, I didn't even look.. now I have to spend $20 to put something in and I don't know what it should say. Anyone with ideas on something to fill a buisness card sized piece of newspaper, let me know. Laura is doing the same thing, maybe we should merge with our funds for a cheeful, "down with Bush" banner. I don't know.

By the way, I don't want to seem like I'm buying into the whole anti-Bush cliché. I do not think what Michael Moore did at the Oscar's was in anyway appropriate and I'm not ready to join the "Country Fair" people in their loud voices against him. However, I do see myself moving to a more democratic position these days, more liberal, and I do acknowledge that the US needs a new regime change and different motives. We need a president that people can support and respect both within the country and internationally. Anti-US sentiment is rather frightening these days, we need someone to put on some bandaids and kiss the wounds.

That is all for today. I need to go do some calculus homework and possibly organize my backpack.

In the meantime, Niki's party was fun and she reinforced my theory that junk food, appealing movies, stupid behavior, and funny hats are key to a good party. I had fun. There are some incriminating videos of me on her computer that I may upload onto my website for a week. "Sammeh's Tinfoil Hat" was a smash hit in Belgium, I hear. (Haha. I wish) Stay tuned.
