Today almost sucked because..

- Mr. Albright thought I was sleeping and said "come back to us, Sarah"
- I missed a "find the equation problem" on our first mini-Stones-quiz. I left it in point slope format; however, switched the x & y cooridinates. A dumb mistake... a REALLY dumb mistake.
- Laura kept talking about the assignment we gave to journalism that she "pulled out of her butt"
- Him came after orchestra and him is growing a nasty-ass-ghetto-punk goatee. I never noticed how truly unattractive he was until today. It was... absolutely shocking. Like, in the last two years he got beaten with an ugly stick. I'm so not kidding. It is kind of sad. I can't believe I used to pine and skip meals freshman year to IM him. Ugh.. the mistakes you make in life.
- I sense a new rift forming between me & Steph. I predict an explosion within a week. She made a comment in front of Laura Mesa that promted a "and this is the company you keep?" look, and I know Steph just said it to make me embarressed. She also thinks I'm being hostile at her plans to join the navy, all I want her to do is "keep her options open." Who knows if she might change her mind (but of course from history, we know she NEVER changes her mind). I just want her to be happy in life and not decide too late that she wants to pursue something via college and to have not applied anywhere. She is too intelligent to close these doors so soon; I just want her to cover all her bases.

Why today ended up as not half bad...

- Drawing is so relaxing. We did sketches today and what are they called.. contour? You can't look at your paper. It was great.
- Dr. McFarlin called one of her college professors "creepy weird" and let out this hilarious laugh.
- Mr. H was not pissed and did not mention my going to AC on tuesday. He forgot I was a senior, it was REALLY cute.. he was in this denial of being at SJ so long, "he never thought our class would graduate" or something like that. He wasn't at all angry about the A-string which I have been playing without. He checked if he had one but he had everything except - lol.
- Fishies are coming!!!!
- Javascript is great. We have such a small class - it is so peaceful. I had a fantastic chat with Katie Kirk & this other girl (really quiet, also a K.K.) in our grade, I've never talked with either of them before.
- "Bee of the Week!!" - this brings people to your site, there are some *ok this is dumb* really popular site owners and they have these "in-crowds" online. It is dumb, but if you own a personal domain - you learn to live in silent awe; getting their affection is by there solicition only.
- Someone wants to join my oekaki!
- Renewed domain & hosting. Hosting bill actual $87 - not as bad as I thought. It could be lower but I'm a hoarding individual and picked the 2nd smallest package (though smallest would have been more than I needed anyway) . Anyone want me to host them for free?? I will give you a subdomain (soandso.fortunecookie.nu) or subfolder (fortunecookie.nu/soandso) and a pop email account. You can choose VW.com or FC.nu. My servers are reliable. My friends can basically have as much as they want as far as space. Oh! and you can have your own FTP account.

Things that would have made today better...

- If Andrea got hit by a bus on the way to school.
- I would have done my reading yesterday.
- If I had skipped Conan last night.
- If I wouldn't have fallen asleep on a spiral notebook (I had this revolting mark on my forehead & cheek) while I was doing my homework this evening.
- If Ms. Skelly gave me chocolate for being the first person accepted into a college as opposed to giving a big chocolate bar to the oh-so-wonderful, Meredith Robey (I have nothing against her.. she is actually one of the sweetest people at school but she ALWAYS wins awards; this just bolsters my theory that there is a conspiracy against me winning things from my school) for being the first to turn in our gold college sheets.
- If I would have gotten tonight's reading done.
- If I was only taking electives.
- If I had a metaphysical experience or any organized belief system.

From 4-7 I had passed a "this day sucked verdict" but after careful weighing.. it was actually pretty great.

How totally odd.

OH and can someone answer this.. hopefully Sarah E. herself:

Where is Sarah going to college; I never heard the final decision - California or Chicago?

I'm curious and I just never found out.

Today is one of those days when if I had a a faith, it would have been restored in the world. I think this is the closest to a "metaphysical experience" as I'm going to get.

I have some reading and need a shower or something.

You know what? I never turned my gold sheet in.

EVER.

In fact, I think it's sitting in a pile somewhere in my room.

Anyways, it didn't affect my getting into college.

I am going to California. :) Chicago was just too expensive for me and they offered me almost no financial aid. I may transfer, though, and Northwestern is a possibility because I LOVED the city of Chicago.

Oh, and by the way, U of C has the BEST bookstore on the planet. It's an underground labyrinth with books on both sides of the wall. :)
