I was looking at my parents University of Chicago Magazine for some reason.. and I found this article where this guy was describing his experience at U of C.. so anyway... he was talking about how even in sporting events.. cheers and jeers were always very intellectual:

Thuydides, Demosthenes, the Peloponnesian War
X squared, Y squared, H2SO4
Underwhelm the ineffectually
Underwhelm the intellectualy
But underwhelm them
