I'd also like to add..
Jul. 3rd, 2003 01:48 amI can't believe I forgot this part.
My family went to IKEA because Nora needed a computer desk because Dad gave her an old work laptop (w/ a busted screen) & a REALLY old monitor. She is acting so stuck up and pompous because she has it. She has it but has no idea what to use it for. She will have it and realize she has no use for it. The Sims & her files are on Anthony's computer and it won't have internet (btw she is begging me to learn how to use AIM in a very huffy tone that I do not like, when I refuse due to her rudeness, she calls me "a stupid rude, f***ing bitch [+ the occasional 'whore' tag]" - even in front of my mom, nice mouth for a 9 year old). Anyway. So my mom is like "we're going to IKEA" and I wanted to go, so Eleanor pitches a fit about me going even though the WHOLE family is going. Then while I talk to my mom in the car, she says I'm not allowed to talk and I should "shut my damn mouth". We get there, my brothers are running around in a reckless manner and Nora's head has inflated by at least 8 inches. She wants all these desk and doesn't even look at the ones my mom wants to get. IKEA stuff is cheap - it all breaks. You should not pay very much for it. Nora wants the expensive ones, the corner desks (though she has no corner to put it in).. its madness. Finally she wants one my mom, intially, didn't want her to have but my dad is like "whatever" and walks away to look at a different showroom. We get John the one my mom wanted for Nora and at first my mom is like "lets get Nora the same one" and then my parents have an argument about something. My mom decides my dad is being a cheapskate and decides "Nora should have a choice" all of the sudden. My brothers continue running around my mom complains to me. My dad is wandering around. My sister is picking out a chair. It was a crazy, awful experience. My family is like a plague that descends upon innocent establishments. Anyway. Nora got her way (& even got the green attachment w/ some arguing) & a $5 stool. John got a desk at my parents whim and $50 dollar chair (twice the limit my dad told them on picking a chair) my mom picked out probably to to miff my dad. I got some orange container thingies and a little 6 box dealy I'm going to dude up and put somewhere - I have no idea what I will put in the drawers. It was a crappy trip but oh well. It was a 100% my family experience with fueding and fighting and craziness and sighing and moaning and bartering and compromise and outright spite-ing. Oh did I mention walking up a little too silently behind my parents do catch a dirty quip my mom made at my dad - it will cost me a good $1000 (at least) to forget in future therapy. ::Shudder::
I have a good family but we would all be better off living seperatly in distant corners of the country.
