Eeek! Long time no update!
Feb. 18th, 2003 12:52 pmWow, I haven't been on in forever. Here's the story:
Our DSL and phone has been really, really messed up lately. The internet works for random pieces of time and then shuts off again, it really sucks. At the same time, our dialtone has been all messed up. You are on the phone with a phone call and you hear wierd tones and scratching noises. At other times, it doesn't work at all. The phone/DSL people - SBC, were supposed to come last week. The guy got "scared off by the dogs" and neglected to call my mother or leave a note. ~_~ We finally got the guy to our house and it seemed like he fixed stuff, but basically it screwed up again. My dad exchanged some frustrated phone calls and I hope they will fix it ASAP, till then, fun fun fun in the school library.
Let me see.. ah! I am currently working on your layout munchkinfever, the lack of internet wouldn't be a problem except I need to look at some more pictures and stuff. I'm soooo sorry it is taking me so long, between this and relatives last week, yuck. When I get internet back at home, I will shoot you an email with the progress and everything else. Again, REALLY sorry about that.
School was great for one day last week. I felt really on top of things, like everything was going to be ok. The next day - horrid test day, sort of punctured all those hopes and dreams.
I really want to be head editor of the paper, (to protect the names of the innocent, argh how I hate my school's internet filter) Girl A is already in charge of so many things. She is also a control freak. It seems like everything I want, she always gets. She is really nice to me, but semi-condescending. She calls people "child" and "my dear." It's like "hrm.. *cough* Girl A, you are only a few months older than me." Its frustrating. I possess a lot of qualities to the girl who is currently second in command, which is why it is easy to see me inheriting that place on the paper. I don't want that, you don't put "second in command" on your application, that isn't the reason I want it though. I think I could handle the paper, I seriously do. I just hope at least a few others recognize that as well. Right now Girl A is my most fierce competition, she writes a lot more than I do, and she is like the only other sub editor thats a junior.. well there is another but she is really blase about the entire newspaper anyway.
Blah, the bell just rang.

Re: Hi!
Date: 2003-02-19 05:17 pm (UTC)- I had my first website when I was 12, it was all about sailor moon and other crazy things. Basically, that started me on the internet.
- In high school I came up with my concept character "veritas woman" and decided to make her a website, most of my earlier work is so bad it's embaressing. Haha ^_^.
- For all of about 6 months, (this is the super stupid part of the story) I got into this site called Neopets. You have these little clubs and you can recruit people. I started making banners to recruit members and I got really into it. That was sort of my enterance into the world of computer design.
- I started applying what I had figured out from messing around on the computer for several years and made my first (website) layout
- About a year later I got into LJ through friends, I liked it enough that I wanted to start customizing and therefore bought a paid account.
- About 5 months later (HAHA) I made my first LJ layout. I was proud. Then I offered my friend Belle (my first friend to have a paid account besides me) to make her a layout. The rest is history.
I had a really corny start, wow, I never really realized that. Anyway, thanks for the interest! ^_^

Date: 2003-02-19 01:42 pm (UTC)Anyway-- I feel bad to say this but, although I love my layout (i'm very fickle and need constant change) therefore, I was just wondering if you could take out the background of my journal, but leave everything else, or tell me how to. E-mail me @ allstarZ6@aol.com or IM me. I'd really appreciate it :D

A tad confused..
Date: 2003-02-19 05:21 pm (UTC)1. I use Adobe Photoshop 6.0 and Frontpage to test my coding for scrollbar and link colors.
2. I think I can take out the background, do you mean the long columns? I will have to go back to photoshop to do that though. It shouldn't take to long if that is that. I will get in touch and figure out exactly what you want changed.

~>Sarah(my name too!!!!! :O)
Sure.. but you might have to be patient..
Date: 2003-02-19 05:28 pm (UTC)After that, I believe I have only one other request on top of you. If you can be patient, I can probably help you. It all depends how long it takes for me to get a good idea for a layout. If I have the idea for what someone wants, it can take as little as an hour to put it together. For mine, that is about how much it took, the one I'm working right now.. hee hee. If you have a solid idea of what you want, email me at sarah@fortunecookie.nu and I can *start* the thinking process.
Haha, I sound like a drama queen/egotistical artist. I'm not, really, I promise. ^_^
