Ack. So much to do, so much to think about. As soon as I remember another thing I need to do, something leaks out... aaaaaah! I have about 4 scattered lists all sharing events in common but also having their own events yet to be compiled into an Über-List. Eek. I'm going crazy.

Right now, on my plate, that I can think of:

- Niki's moms office on Thursday
- Rice tour
- Schedule Rice interview
- Look up 2003-2004 standardized test dates
- Report back to Steph on possibly Thursday thing
- Decide if party will happen within century
- Research 1990s welfare reform
- Research current policies
- Write thesis, outline, & essay
- Read "Power of Myth"
- Figure out who needs to go where as far as driving
- Decide whether or not to go to rehearsal Thursday/Friday; weigh suffering vs. Mr. H's shifty looks
- Decide what colleges, need applications to
- Finish cleaning room; i.e. wire basket sorting
- Call L.M. about journalism
- Look around at silkscreening places; options: what can/can't do; what styles available; costs; etc.
- Fill out those gold sheet things for counselor; resume; etc
- Senior picture
- Gather service project stuff; write rough draft of essay
- Figure out where schedule is: in mail, at school, whatever.. LOCATE IT
- Check shipments on textbooks
- Breathe
- Glue clumps of pulled hair back on (lol, jk)
- Stop wondering where summer went
- Drink fluids
- Breathe out

Ooooook. I'm sure I'm forgetting some stuff. I will add if I can remember anything. Bleeeeech.

Today was one of those more traumatizing events that you remember to some extent for the rest of your life. My mom & brother had to be picked up at the same time; 11:30 after a 10 AM meeting and 9 AM orchestra rehearsal, respectively. Mom asked me to drive so I could get Anthony and she would wait.. for some reason, I guess it sounded faster than having her just do it. Anyway, halfway to her meeting, she pointed out the car needed gas. "Ok," I thought, "Just drop her off, go to the Shell station.. I've driven with the needle lower than that before.. on the freeway in fact; no problem." I pull out of the the parking lot and on to Westheimer. I get to the Gessner light and decide since the construction is absolute crap and I don't want to deal with it, I chose to take the slightly longer way down Briar Forest. Still ok. I get on Memorial, drive past the house.. driving past my elementary school when the gas pedal got all squishy. Things felt weird but I thought maybe my Doc Marten sandle was leadening my foot a bit, so I stopped at the Gessner/Memorial light looking at all the construction happening on the street and school. So the light changes... no tamales, I felt this happening and saw a space behind a Lexus parked off to the side. With whatever particles left in the tank I got off the street while the van behind me honked (I HATE when people do that). There was a policeman with a sheriff vest but otherwise casual clothes (actually, the owner of the Lexus - haha.. my neighborhood has so much money the policeman drives a Lexus) I told him it stalled and he asked me if I had anyone to call and I said yeah.. but I don't know what to do for car trouble, he said all he could do was call me a wrecker, but he didn't want to do that if my parents didn't want me to.

The story could end with me getting a parental on the line and having one of them give me the number for AAA who descended in moments and took me either to the gas station I was trying to get to less than a quarter mile away or my house about a half a mile away. Obviously that didn't happen..

Ok, so this morning, dunce Anthony forgot his phone (one time where he could actually use the thing).. mom offered him hers so he could call back. Mom took Anthony's phone from the house. I knew this, but there are some problems here. No one knows Anthony's number - no one has had to call it, I don't think it is written down anywhere: I couldn't call my mother. Anthony had mom's cell phone off so I couldn't call him to ask what his cell phone number was. Ok, well.. dad, right? Cell off.... he wasn't picking up the work phone.

Eventually the friendly policeman had to leave (to pick up some shoes? for his kid) - he would be back in an hour. The car has no AC.. I'm in a major dilemma.. I'm so close to the gas station I could walk - but what would happen to the car. I call John in between to ask for numbers to his hostile surliness of missing pieces of "Price is Right." After 35 minutes, my dad picked up. He got the Shell guys on the line. They came and put in a gallon of the gas. They took it back to the station and filled it up, ran a scan (because a light came on when it stalled), and tested it. 12:30 I had the car and went to get everyone an hour late.

Blech. I wouldn't normally be awake. To my credit, I didn't cry till I got my dad on the phone - that is very good for me. Even when the construction guys told me that they needed to do work where the car was sitting 5 minutes before the Shell guys rescued me.

I got lunch out of the deal. Woo-hoo. Diinner.
